Garden School News - Week of Sept 17-21

Posted:
Sunday September 16

We had another great week of school. We were very pleased with students’ behaviour. Lots of great and exciting activities have happened during these two weeks, including Black Canvas Art Workshop and Cross Country. It is so great to see that many students are participating and they are running and running.

Our Garden community grew this year. We have welcomed 278 students.

Room 105 was formerly our quiet lunch space, but now it is a classroom and a shared space with the daycare. We don’t have a big space anymore to run the quiet lunch. Due to limited space, students in the quiet lunch room will be referred only from the teachers. The quiet lunch space is for a maximum of 12 - 15 students. Therefore, participating students will be those who teachers think can’t handle the lunch room and have an alternative IEP page for self-regulation skills.

A reminder to keep the strollers out of the main and back entrance as this is against the fire code.

Parents should drop off their child at the yard at 8:45 AM and 12:40PM.  If you are late, please drop your child off at the office.  Please do not walk your child directly to class.

We are noticing that many parents are dropping off their child at the office. Thank you for your cooperation and for ensuring that our school stays safe by not walking your children to their classroom. We are now able to keep track of all the visitors in the school.

Our first Curriculum night is this Thursday.

Session One:  6:00-6:30 PM in your child's classroom

Session Two:  6:30-7:00 PM in your child's classroom

Visit your child's classrooms and receive information from teachers explaining your child's program. We are looking forward to seeing all of you there! ☺
