Who’s been moving in the school library at night? A fly? A cat? No…the nightshade veggies!
Ms. Cox reports that of all the library plantings, the nightshades have taken best. The nightshade vegetables or Solanaceae, is a plant family that includes eggplant, peppers, potatoes and tomatoes. (The term “nightshade” may have been coined because some of these plants prefer to grow in shady areas, and some flower at night.) Thanks to the Library Helpers for doing such a terrific job.
Seedlings will be on sale at Front Door area at the Garden School Fun Fair on May 23 from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. Come and see what we have grown for you!
