Saturday May 16

Our annual Fun Fair is coming up on May 23 and we need your help! Please, sign up to volunteer a couple of hours of your time on a (hopefully) sunny Saturday in support of your community. There's a wide variety of roles available, from food service to working at a bouncy castle, manning an arts & crafts table, or helping with face paint! Let us know what you're good at and we'll help find you a great role in our supporting cast. We promise, it's a painless and fun activity that means so much to the school's continued support of an enriched experience for your children. Email gardenavenews@gmail.com with your availability and area of interest. We appreciate your help immensely!

Project Greenthumb Is Growing

Who’s been moving in the school library at night? A fly? A cat? No…the nightshade veggies!

Ms. Cox reports that of all the library plantings, the nightshades have taken best. The nightshade vegetables or Solanaceae, is a plant family that includes eggplant, peppers, potatoes and tomatoes. (The term “nightshade” may have been coined because some of these plants prefer to grow in shady areas, and some flower at night.) Thanks to the Library Helpers for doing such a terrific job.
